Design 1 –
This design is to focus more on the book itself rather than the artwork on it, making use of the raw materials’ colours to create a modern, minimal and aesthetically pleasing to the viewers eyes. It is designed with designers in mind but I feel this design could appeal to most people. I have also designed this with the intention of contrasting with the inside pages, with the hope of making the inside inspired by Anthony Burill and having pages of mismatched type and geometry.
I’m not sure how I’d do it but I’d like to be able to achieve a debossing on the logos on this design (the logo shown may not end up being the one used but is just an example).
Thinking it over this design has been used too much for design books and therefore lead to me thinking of a second idea of changing the coloured edge to have a band around the cover.
